This report gives a full and frank account of the history and on-going dispute between British Design Initiative Ltd (BDI Ltd) established on 1993 which licensed its assets under license to British Design Innovation an organisation set-up by BDI Ltd effectively as a franchise of the original company.
In September 2013 the Board directors entrusted to maintain the health and wealth of the organisation under license simply placed a new badge BIDA over the BDI badge, ceased to pay the license fees and yet continue to trade the business unaffected as though it were still under license.
The dispute has given rise to many assumptions, different versions of what took place and why and despite nearly two years of correspondence the Board continue to refute any wrong doing, deny any breach of the license agreement and deny the licensor is owed any outstanding license fees.
Therefore it has become necessary to present the fully detailed activities that caused the dispute between the parties and simply let those who have any interest in understanding the issues and availing themselves of the facts to do so.
